Asian Hornet

This week the Asian Hornet, Vespa velutina has been identified at a retail business warehouse in Scotland. The Asian Hornet is a non-native species and a serious threat to the UK that has recently established itself in Europe. There are more public health risks associated with Asian Hornets than with any other wasp or hornet in the UK

Asian Hornets were first discovered in the UK during Autumn 2016 and so we expect more sightings in the very near future. If you suspect you have a hornet issue then call us immediately on 01635 592 444. Please be advised these are not wasps and best left for professional help.
